He is a Western Australian born and trained GP who completed his specialisation in early 2015. Since then he has worked in a combination of rural and urban areas, including the Wheatbelt, Great Southern and remote Indigenous communities in Far North Queensland. Prior to working at Trigg Medical Centre he worked as a GP in Albany and as a Senior Medical Officer with the Geriatrics and Rehabilitation ward at Albany Hospital.

Jon has an active interest in rock climbing and back-country snowboarding as well as running and the gym.

He has a special interest in travel medicine, non-pharmacological weight loss, exercise programs and medical education. He is a current Rural Clinical School senior lecturer, as well as the Vice Chair of the GP training organisation in WA (WAGPET) and a member of the RACGP WA Council.
