Dr Forgione has been a GP in private practice for approximately 20 years following a career as Director of Emergency Services at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children and Medical Administrator at Royal Perth Hospital. He has a special interest in all aspects of child health, chronic disease management and medical education. He is also a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Western Australia. Dr Forgione is currently on the Advisory Board to the Medical School, Notre Dame Fremantle, Chair of the Education Committee of the Primary Care Diabetes Society of Australian as well as being a member of the Editorial Board for the Society’s journal. He also sits on a number of advisory boards to various Pharmaceutical companies and is a member of the RACGP Special Interest Group for diabetes. He has also published a number of papers in the area of diabetes as well as presented at various conferences and meetings. He is dedicated to assisting in the provision of continuing peer education especially in the areas of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease and osteoporosis.
